What type of Vitamin C is used in the Glow Nectar?
Typically Vitamin C in the form of water soluble ascorbic acid can be an incredible skin ingredient for anti-aging purposes with one major drawback. It is highly unstable in formulations and goes rancid extremely quickly, potentially causing more harm than good.
The glow nectar features a unique, fat soluble form of Vitamin C referred to as Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, or THDA. THDA is a highly stable form of Vitamin C, functioning as an ascorbic acid analogue. When applied to the skin, enzymes convert THDA into pure ascorbic acid. Some researchers even hypothesize that THDA is able to better penetrate the skin (compared to ascorbic acid) due to it's natural affinity towards lipids in the epidermis.
What is the shelf life and how long will the Glow Nectar last with regular use?
