"I'm speechless..."
"Since I started using the glow nectar six months ago I've noticeably firmed up my skin. The "glow" is real as well. I was looking at old pictures the other day. I don't think my skin has been this bright now at 57 since my twenties... I've had similar results from strong retinoids but they always left my skin red and peeling. That has no longer been an issue. My skin drinks it in and is a dream to apply.
I wanted to try something new from Hibi and after talking to the founder Sydney she recommended the restoration balm since it soothes and hydrates in a way the glow nectar can't do alone. I was a little nervous because most "tallow" type products had left my skin feeling waxy, oily, or both. She guarantees her products though so I decided to give it a try.
Woah. The first time I used it I was shocked at how fast it absorbed and woke up to the softest skin I've had in a very long time. I've only been using it for a few weeks now but to my surprise I've yet to have any issues with clogged pores and it feels very nourishing every time I use it.
I'm excited to see the future results. Thank you for putting these two together!"

PASTURE-RAISED BISON TALLOW
Scientific Name: Adeps Bovis
Origin: Pacific Northwest, USA
Description: Tallow has been used to nourish and protect skin for thousands of years, from scorching Egypt to the high, cold deserts of Central Asia.
Tallow from humanely-raised pasture bison offer superior nutrients not found in typical tallow. In fact, grass-fed bison tallow can contain up to 300% more α-Linolenic acid (ALA omaga-3) compared to conventional tallow as well as significantly higher amounts of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).
ALA has been studied for it's potential ability to prevent sun spots as well as improve skin barrier function which keeps moisture in and toxins out. Meanwhile CLA has demonstrated in animal studies its ability to hydrate skin and decrease inflammation.

Specifically the date kernel has a diverse antioxidant profile consisting of phytosterols, isoflavones, and tocopherols that may help improve skin barrier function and combat premature aging.
In fact, a 2002 study demonstrated a 28% reduction in wrinkles over just a five week period.

OLIVE SQUALANE
Scientific Name: Squalane
Origin: Mediterranean
Description: Though used as a moisturizer in Ancient Egypt, olive oil is not the best skincare ingredient due to it's very high oleic acid content which can irritate sensitive skin and clog pores. The squalane found within olives, however, is a modern skincare marvel.
As a non-comedogenic, lightweight, and fast-absorbing emollient, squalane excels in calming, smoothing, and hydrating dry, inflamed, and sensitive skin without clogging pores.
Squalane is the fully saturated form of squalene, a naturally occurring lipid in the skin which is essential for supporting the skin’s barrier and locking in hydration.
After peaking in teen years, squalane rapidly declines in the skin with age making this ingredient very beneficial for aging skin.

BLUE TANSY FLOWER OIL
Scientific Name: Tanacetum annuum L.
Origin: Morocco
Description:
We don’t just include this for the aesthetics though. Chamazulene is an antioxidant that’s shown evidence to be even more potent than Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Other components of this rare oil include alpha-pinene, myrcene, and theophylline.
These additional components have been studied for their ability to attenuate UV-induced photoaging and inhibit enzymes that break down the collagen and elastin that give our skin its youthful appearance. These properties indicate that blue tansy flower oil is a potent anti-aging botanical.

POMEGRANATE OIL
Scientific Name: Punica Granatum
Origin: Turkey
Description: In Ancient Greek mythology, the pomegranate often represents life and regeneration - a fitting representation considering what modern research has revealed about this nutritious fruit. Pomegranate oil is revered by beauty enthusiasts for its ability to plump and perk up tired skin.
Beautiful, youthful skin depends on collagen for structure, elastin for suppleness, and hyaluronic acid for hydration. However, external stressors such as UV radiation can trigger the activation of collagenase, elastase, and hyaluronidase enzymes which destroy these important components. An en vitro 2023 study showed that pomegranate seed oil had the ability to inhibit these destructive enzymes by 70-80%!
One of the star nutrients in pomegranate seed oil is the rare omega-5 punicic acid. This unique fatty acid works by both preventing moisture loss through the skin while also accelerating the regenerative process in the skin responsible for the production of proteins and barrier lipids. The result? Plumper, more supple skin.

SEA BUCKTHORN BERRY OIL
Scientific Name: Hippophae rhamnoides L.
Origin: Germany
Description: Packed with over 200 bioactive fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, sea buckthorn berry oil is arguably one of the most effective anti-aging oils currently being studied. It’s so powerful in fact that it’s been used as an auxiliary product in the treatment of frostbites and skin damages from exposure to UV radiation.
One of the key components of this oil is the rare omega-7 palmitoleic fatty acid. This single compound makes up over 35% of sea buckthorn berry oil and has been shown to significantly improve the skin barrier, improve skin elasticity, and reduce the appearance of dark spots and wrinkles.
In addition to the the presence of various antioxidants help the skin combat wrinkle-inducing oxidative stress. This includes carotenoids which give the oil its rich amber color and immediately impart a “glow” to the skin giving it a fresh and healthy appearance.

ROSEHIP OIL
Scientific Name: Rosa canina
Origin: Various
Description: Silky, luxurious, and non-comedogenic, rose hip oil is naturally rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants shown to help brighten skin tone, improve elasticity, and increase collagen production.
Historically referred to as the “Oil of Youth'', rose hip oil goes back thousands of years to the times of Hippocrates in Ancient Greece, as well as in Ancient Egypt where it was used to protect the skin from the harsh, dry Mediterranean climate..
One notable antioxidant, provitamin A beta-carotene, has shown the ability to inhibit enzymes (MM-1, MM-3, and MM-10), helping protect collagen and prevent UV-induced aging. In fact, a study involving 34 women showed 23% increase in skin elasticity, a 19% increase in moisture, and a 9% decrease in wrinkle depth after just eight weeks of rose hip supplementation.
Finally, rose hip oil is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids - essential fatty acids known for their ability to fortify the skin barrier and brighten skin tone.

BAKUCHIOL
Scientific Name: Bakuchiol
Origin: India
Description: Bakuchiol is a monoterpene derived from the Psoralea Corylifolia seed, a plant widely used in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. Today, bakuchiol it’s often referred to as “nature’s retinol alternative”.
Studies have shown bakuchiol functions as an analog to retinol when it comes to "reversing the signs of aging, providing skin protection from sun induced damage... and modulating pigmentation control."
In fact, a recent study involving 44 patients carried out by UC-Davis Dermatologists showed both retinol and bakuchiol to be statistically equivalent in decreasing wrinkle surface area and hyperpigmentation. Over just twelve weeks, the patients in the bakuchiol group saw a 19% decrease in wrinkle surface area while 59% of the patients saw a decrease in hyperpigmentation.
The best part? Unlike retinol, Bakuchiol is photo-stable and much more friendly towards sensitive skin. This means that it can be used during the day without the irritation, burning, and peeling usually associated with retinol.

THD VITAMIN C
Scientific Name: Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate
Origin: USA
Description: Nearly two thousand years ago, the Roman would use rose hips to help heal wounds. Though they did not know it at the time rose hips are an extremely potent form of collagen-stimulating Vitamin C.
Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbe, or THD for short, is an oil soluble form of Vitamin C and a modern breakthrough. An anti-aging staple, Vitamin C has been shown to help increase collagen production, promote an even skin tone, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Compared to the ascorbic acid used by most skincare brands, however, THD is more stable and less likely to cause irritation due to its non-acidic nature. It’s also been suggested to penetrate the skin more efficiently based on en vitro studies which have shown it to be up to 150% more effective that typical ascorbic acid.
Combined with Bakuchiol, these two compounds offer a synergistic antioxidant effect which supports graceful aging.

Which ritual is right for me?
The SUN & MOON RITUAL is our new ritual designed to provide your skin with all the nutrients it needs for graceful aging, without the side effects often associated with potentially irritating ingredients such as retinol and ascorbic acid (the acidic form of Vitamin C).
Compared to the REJUVENATE & RENEW RITUAL, this bundle is more appropriate if you do not have any acne or textured skin concerns, and/or if you already have cleansing and exfoliating products you love.
If your priorities are combatting acne and hyperpigmentation, while enjoying anti-aging benefits, we would recommend the Glow Nectar and Radiance Mask. We hope to offer this as a bundle in the future.
Finally, many of our customers enjoy all three! This is true for the founder and she incorporates each product into her weekly skincare routine, which varies slightly depending on the season and current needs.
Please refer to the product-goal matrix below for more information, or reach out to use at support@hibiyouth.com for personal recommendations.
When will I begin to see results?
Users often enjoy a subtle glow to their skin when applying the Glow Nectar as well as softer, more hydrated skin the morning following the Restoration Balm. Slow fading of fine lines and wrinkles and skin brightening take more time, however, and we typically begin to notice this after two to three months of consistent use.
Are Hibi Youth's formulations pregnancy safe?
Our formulations were designed based on a personal need for clean, effective beauty and anti-aging products which the founder felt comfortable using through pre-conception, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. Though all of our products are pregnancy safe, every body is different. Please speak with your doctor before using any new skincare ingredients during your pregnancy.
When will my order arrive?
Orders typically arrive within 3-5 business days and you will receive an email with the tracking information as soon as your order is on it's way. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at support@hibiyouth.com and we will be happy to help.
What if it's not for me?
If you are not experiencing expected results in your first few applications please reach out to use at support@hibiyouth.com for assistance and we will be happy to help. Sometimes with natural skincare products a simple tip or trick is all you need. We recommend trying a new skincare ritual for at least one to two months for optimal results to begin to appear.
With that said, every formulation is not perfect for every skin type. If you decide one or both of these formulations are not for you we're proud to offer our 90-Day Happiness Guarantee. Simply reach out the support@hibiyouth.com and we'll be happy to help you find a formulation that works for you.

Is bakuchiol a good retinol alternative?
Bakuchiol is a monoterpene derived from the Psoralea Corylifolia seed, a plant widely used in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine.
Studies have shown bakuchiol functions as an analog to retinol when it comes to "reversing the signs of aging, providing skin protection from sun induced damage... and modulating pigmentation control."

In fact, a recent study carried out by UC-Davis Dermatologists showed both retinol and bakuchiol to be statistically equivalent in decreasing wrinkle surface area and hyperpigmentation.

What type of vitamin C is used in the Glow Nectar?
Typically Vitamin C in the form of water soluble ascorbic acid - a good ingredient with some serious drawbacks. It is highly unstable, goes rancid quicky, and is often irritating and can cause sun sensitivity.
The glow nectar features a unique, fat soluble form of Vitamin C referred to as Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, or THDA. THDA is a highly stable form of Vitamin C, functioning as an ascorbic acid analogue.
When applied to the skin, enzymes convert THDA into pure ascorbic acid. It's non-acidic nature means it is less irritating to sensitive skin as well.
Finally, some researchers even hypothesize that THDA is able to better penetrate the skin (compared to ascorbic acid) due to it's natural affinity towards lipids in the epidermis. This could indicate more powerful anti-aging potential.
Why is bison tallow used in the Restoration Balm?
Not all tallow is created equally. As a bare minimum tallow should be sourced from farms with pasture-raised and humanely treated animals.
The best tallow for skin though is going to be tallow produced from grass-fed, pasture raised bison. That is primarily due to the unique fatty acids present in this rare type of tallow.
Stearic acid is one of the fatty acids which has shown benefits for improving skin barrier function, softening and hydrating skin. Tallow from pasture raised bison is going to provide the highest level of stearic acid compared to conventional or even grass-fed beef.
Linolenic acid, aka omega-3 fatty acid, is another fatty acid with anti-aging skin benefits. In addition to helping maintain healthy and hydrated skin, omega-3 fatty acids have shown to be very beneficial at inhibiting UV damage. A study done in 2003 showed that EPA, a specifically potent form of linolenic acid, was capable of increasing resistance to sunburn by 136%.
With 300% more linolenic acid, bison tallow is superior to beef tallow as a potent source of omega-3 fatty acids.
Our tallow comes from bison regeneratively raised on open pastures featuring diverse flora and fauna. It is here they gain their sustenance for the majority of the year. During the winter they feed on hay from a neighbor's organic farm. No grain is fed to the bison in order to optimize the animals' health.
What is the shelf life and how long will these last with regular use?
The Glow Nectar and Restoration Balm are formulated in micro batches with all-natural ingredients and without the use of chemical stabilizers. Just as one would indulge in fresh, nutritious food quickly and frequently, we recommend using the both formulations within six months of opening for best results.
You can expect both the Glow Nectar and Restoration Balm to last 45-60 days when used frequently. In our experience this can vary based on the individual skin type and time of year.
Can I enjoy this ritual alongside my other skincare formulations?
While we aim to create simple, minimalist skincare routines you can certainly incorporate other products into your current routine.
The Radiance Mask can be a great compliment for women in need of a natural cleanser with gentle exfoliation, or who just desire an indulgent "refresh" to the skin a few times each week.
